My Artist's Statement
Art is a privelege, and frees me from the constraints of daily chores with the pleasure I get from expressing my mental pictures. I am compelled to encourage others who have not found this joy to pick up a brush or a pencil, and try it. I want them to experience the thrill of creation.
How fortunate I am to be frequently asked to create art for others. Over the years, the awards i have received have opened doors, and lead to numerous opportunities to invent both two deminsional and three deminsional art for others, adding to my joyful satisfaction. My creativity is undergoing renovation and expansion with the in-depth study of art history at Murray State University. From the four classes i have had, I feel endessly inspired by studying the different phases of art history. As a visual learner, I am imprinted with a wealth of this wide range of beauty.
Western Art is my preference. From ancient Greek Architecture, I understand the concept of teh golden section, and imagine ways to improve my three deminsional art. Renaissance painter Raphael's School of Athens is my favorite fresco with its great, perfect detail.
As a senior in art education, I look forward to presenting to my students, world history, through different artists. Watching the students' creating from their ideas will be a comfort. My clases will be the part of the day that the students will look forward to in school.
I am proud to be thought of as an artist.
