Work experience
Our Paris-Henry County Arts Council has offered the Community Artist’s Showcase since 1982. I have entered it each year, and received several awards.
In 1998, I was a featured artist at our Paris-Henry County Heritage Center.
In 1998, I began teaching watercolor classes at First Methodist Church. I taught four classes a month for the first year, and decided to return to college to become certified to teach art in public schools. In 1999-2000, I taught two classes a week. I currently only teach in the summers, since my college schedule is very demanding.
In 1999, my painting of my hometown of Paris, Tennessee’s version of the Eiffel Tower won first place, and was used for the program and post cards for the Balloonfest.
In the fall of 2001, I was chosen to judge the Carroll County, Tennessee, high school students’ art show. In May 2002, the artist’s council chose me to judge the Benton County Community Artist’s Showcase.
In Fall 2001, and Fall 2002, I was selected by Dr. Pat Williams to design the T shirts for the MSU Horticulture Dept.
In November, 2001, my color copy minimaster sold at the MSU Art Auction.
Spring, 2002, my Graphic Design work chosen to hang in the MSU Eagle Art Gallery, and received the Graphics Design Award as part of the student show.Professional affiliations
