Exercise 10:

Agricultural Presentations


 


This Exercise will serve to build communication and professional presentation skills related to the world of work.  In completing this Exercise students should continue to draw upon "real-world" applications and are encouraged to integrate work-related activities into the application.

The presentation should be developed using Microsoft Powerpoint for Windows 95 or 97.  The presentation should be an Agricultural Sales presentation for a particular commodity/good/product/service.  Examples could include a presentation to sell: cattle trailors, feed, chemicals, extension programs, farmland, farm machinery, etc.

The sales presentation should follow the outline below:

Introduction Page - Personalized with picture of product/service
Operation Analysis - tell key numbers and data of customers operation or business
Present Program - present the program/service or product your are selling
Performance - tell the performance of your product or service
Problems/Challenges - state the problems or challenges a customer might entail if they used your product/service
Show Efficiency it will give them, how it will bring about better yields, how it will make life easier, or how it will save them
    money
Show Comparison Data to other products/services on the market
Show Expected Results
Tell your committment to service the product
Pricing & Terms of sale -- and discounts for volume sales
Summarize the benefits
Show spreadsheet cost

The following minimum guidelines should be met:

    1.  A minimum of 20 slides with customized background from the web (Includes an introductory slide and ending slide)
    2.  Animated or moving text or pictures
    3.  Two graphs or charts (two different types) showing real data within the presentation
    4.  Two ag pictures drawn from the internet or another source other than powerpoint showing actual product
    5.  A consistent theme throughout the presentation
    6.  Hyperlinks to a simulated or actual budget of the product or service in Microsoft Excel
            (make sure Excel spreadsheet is on disk as well)
    7.  Hyperlinks to two internet ag web sites that go along with your product or service
    8.  Logos and custom graphics on each page applicable

Upon completion the final copy should saved on disk (zip disks are fine) and brought to the mid term exam to turn in.
