Fowler's Toad

2.5”-5” long, large toad with light stripe down middle of back, yellow to greed to brown with blotched back.  Prominent cranial crests contact parotoid glands, and has 3 or more warts per dorsal spot (use to distinguish from American Toad).  Voice: like the bleat of a sheep with a cold.  Found in sandy areas near marshes, backyards, and temporary pools.  This is a subspecies of Woodhouse’s toad.  Primarily nocturnal.  Breeds in March to August, and lays strings of eggs.
