Crawfish Frog
2-4.5 long, a stout-bodied frog, cream to brown or black with irregular dark spots on back and sides.  Adjacent spots are frequently fused into horizontal blotches.  Dorsolateral folds sometimes highlighted with yellow, and skin may be smooth and warty.  Voice is a deep resonating snore.  Found along the Mississippi in this area, in moist meadows and prairie woodlands.  Breeds in spring and early summer.  More terrestrial than most true frogs, spending time in burrows or stumps.
