The turtle on the right is a common snapping turtle. The turtle
on the left is an alligator

| 8"-19", the most familiar snapper with massive head and powerful jaws and a very thick, long tail with saw-toothed bumps. Carapace is tan to dark brown, with 3 rows of weak keels (bumps), and is serrated in the rear; 12 marginas scutes perside. Plastron is yellow to tan and small. Weighs over 45lbs. |
