Northern Red Oak

One of the largest oaks, reaching 125' in height (60-90' normal).  Leaves are smooth or slightly hairy along veins, with the middle lobes being largest.  Large, round acorns in shallow cups.  Dark bark has long, smooth plates between furrows.
