Similar to deer mouse, but white-footed mouse has a slightly longer tail which is more sparsely furred and scaly.  The white-footed mouse is also a bit larger (5.5"-8.5" long), with larger feet and ears.  More of woodland species.  Often distinguished by its white feet.  White-footed mice are found throughout the eastern and midwestern U.S. and into Mexice, are mostly nocturnal, and feed on insects, seeds, and berries.
