Mudpuppy

 
 

8"-17" long, with feathery gills, 4-toed feet, and a compressed tail.  Gray to rust-brown above, with fuzzy-edged dark-blue spots.  Belly gray with dark spots.  Live in lakes, rivers, and streams.  Feeds on worms, crayfish, insects, and small fish.
