Accuplacer placement

This page was last updated on 3/22/2022.

Accuplacer, as defined by College Board, is a series of tests that evaluate skills in reading, writing, and math to help college administrators place students in courses that match their skills. However, in the event where exam scores, such as those for the ACT or SAT, are either not required or are deemed too old, Accuplacer can also serve as a means for Admission. Accuplacer exams measure Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic, QRAS (Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics), and/or Advanced Algebra and Functions. The exams are untimed and offered in a small setting.

The Murray State Testing Center administers Accuplacer by appointment, Monday-Friday during regular business hours. An administration fee of 10 dollars per exam is required upon arrival for an appointment. The standard Accuplacer Combined costs 30 dollars and consists of Reading, Writing, and QRAS math. A paper Score Report will be provided to the examinee, and a copy will be sent to Admissions.

Please contact the Murray State Testing Center at 270-809-6848 or email at msu.testingcenter@murraystate.edu for an appointment and details on location, parking, etc.
