The course is over and the grades are in! As it turned out, the grade percentages went through a very narrow range, 84.3-88.4, so everyone got a B. Alas, I did not see an A-level performace this semester, probably due to the complexity of the material. (And the pickiness of the teacher, some of you may add.)

In any case, thanks to everyone for a significant effort in the course - I enjoyed teaching it!

Have a great summer!

Home, 5/6

The final exam is scheduled for Friday at 10:30. We will meet in our usual room and proceed from there if it is occupied. The final exam will cover material starting with the Cantor set and will have  problems from or like those on exams 2 and 3. For example, problems that many people have solved will be replaced by similar (new) problems, while those that few have solved will stay. A slightly updated test knowledge document (to reflect the end of section 1.1) has been posted. Theory problems will probably change.

If you need to see me (to pick up exam 3 or homework), you can find me at the office on

Wednesday, 10:00-3:00, Thursday, 10:00-1:30, Friday 9:30-10:30

Good luck on your finals!

Welcome to the course! Since everyone already took Topology with me in the fall, you already know how this website works. Things will run pretty much the same way in this course as well.
