The course is over and the grades are in! You can see all the statistics on the "scores and docs" page including the distribution of the final grades. All the solutions to our exams and joysheets are there, too.
I enjoyed teaching this course - special thanks to students who participated in class discussion - you always make my job easier and more enjoyable!
Have a wonderful break!
If you took exam 5, you should have received your grade by now. You can retreive the exam and Joysheet 11 at my office on Monday.
The final exam is on Tuesday at 8:00AM in our usual classroom. It will cover everything we did this semester and will have 6 pages with questions similar to the ones on our five exams. Thus, the best first step in studying for the final is to make sure you can do all the problems on the exams we had so far. (Solutions to exam 5 will be posted on Monday.) If you find you have trouble with some questions, you can review the corresponding section.
If you need to see me, here are my office hours for finals week:
Monday 10:00-3:00, Tuesday 11:00-2:00, Wednesday 10:00-3:00, Thursday 10:00-1:30
Good luck on finals!
Update on Exam 5: it will cover sections 6.3-6.5, 7.1, 7.2. Check out exams 5-7 for some sample problems, as follows:

As everyone is looking ahead to final grades, I have updated the grade computer page to reflect the grade structure in this course. Try it! Enter your information, see what you current overall grade is, enter hypothetical exam 4 and 5 grades to see what your final grade may be and whether it could be improved by taking the final exam.
Expect exam 4 sometime during the week after next.

Exam 1 turned out reasonably well - you may find the statistics and solutions on the "scores and docs" page. If you haven't done as well as you had hoped, make sure you keep trying and come to see me for office hours if you need some help.
Have a good fall break, and we'll continue on Monday with section 1.5.
After Exam 1, you may relax a little bit. If you want to do something anyway, check out homework in section 1.4.

We'll continue with section R.6 on Tuesday. If you haven't turned your Joysheet 1 in, make sure you bring it on Tuesday. (What Joysheet? Find it on the link at right if you didn't get it in class.)
There is no assignment for Monday, when we will cover section R.4. Those who want to get ahead can look at the assignment for that section.
Welcome to the course! Look around to familiarize yourself with the layout of these webpages. Note that the most important links at right are highlighted. All documents (homework assignment, solutions to exams, etc.) can be found at the "scores and documents" page. Links to often-used documents also appear in the menu bar at right.
These pages will get more content as information becomes available. Check back often: useful information is provided in the "home" section (which you are reading), typically updated weekly.
