SENDING YOUR SCRIPTS
The easiest way to do this is go to the Blackboard page for the class, and click on the Groups button. Use the Send E-Mail function. Or you can access the mail through the Communication button. When the assignment instructions say to revise that script for the members of your group, send it to the list. If you transmitted it successfully, you will get a copy back. As backup for when Blackboard is not available, make an E Mail list that includes all the addresses of the students in your group, plus mine. Add your own address last.
REVISIONS
When you get a script from someone in your group, read the composition
thoroughly. Next go through the copy again, correcting any grammar, syntax,
or spelling errors as you go. The best way to do this is to put the correction
in parentheses (·.) following the text error. Finally, write a brief
paragraph of comments on the content itself -- what you like about it as well
as any changes you suggest. Be honest. It's very important for writers to
hear from their intended audience.
COMMUNICATION
Post your revision via E mail TO THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT who wrote the script
with A COPY TO ME by the stated deadline. You can use Blackboard for this,
but select the recipients from the list. Don't send all the revisions to
everybody in your Revision Group.
EXPECTATIONS
I expect you to do a sincere job of helping each other revise and edit your script material. If this process succeeds, you will have conscientious feedback from me and two of your peers on everything you submit. In turn, this will help you improve your writing skills and develop new ways of thinking about the concepts, treatments, and scripts. The Revision Groups should function like story conferences.
You should expect an honest appraisal of your work and plenty of suggestions for improvements. Have some fun with this.
