JMC 369 3 Credit Hours
I. Title
Advanced Audio Production
II. Catalog Description
Digital audio control and operations,
including radio broadcasting, mixing and editing, multi-track recording,
and sound reinforcement
III. Purpose
This course is designed to provide learning
experiences in the three major areas of advanced audio production.
IV. Course Objectives
A. To demonstrate a working knowledge
of basic audio production techniques, technology, and terminology
B. To produce broadcast-quality radio
programs
C. To produce a four-channel music mix
D. To produce concert sound reinforcement
V. Content Outline
A. Review of sound principles, audio
components, and operations
B. Sound reinforcement
C. Producing radio programs
D. Producing recorded music
VI. Instructional Activities
This is a project-oriented class with
demonstration and supervised classroom activities accounting for 1 contact
hour per week and production in the studio, control room, or on location
accounting for 4 contact hours per week, to be arranged.
VII. Field and Clinical Activities
Audio productions will be completed in
control rooms, radio and recording studios, and in concert halls both on
campus and at remote locations.

X. Attendance Policy
Attendance and punctuality are required.
Any student who misses more than seven classes for whatever reason will
not receive a passing grdae in this course.
