   I. Title
      Industrial Hygiene Sampling Strategies
 
  II. Catalog Description
      Advanced in-depth study of the approaches to workplace
      sampling.  Emphasis is on sampling methods, passive sampling,
      sampling devices, breathing zone, and area sampling strategy.
      Course work will include lab. sessions and field experience.
      This course is designed for graduate students only.
 
 III. Purpose
      To prepare students to conduct in-depth and comprehensive
      air sampling and analysis.

      By the end of this course:
      - Students will become familiar with different types and
        methods of sampling.
      - Students will be able to analyze results and statistically
        accept or reject them.
      - Students will be able to choose the proper method and
        equipment to sample different types of airborne agents.
      - Students will be able to use analytical microscopes.
      - Students will be able to calibrate & use sampling equipment
        ranging from the very simple to the very complicated.

 VII. Field & Laboratory Experiences
      Field work and laboratory sessions requires in-depth written
      reports as directed by instructor.  Lab reports must be
      typed and presented on time.  Reasonably late reports will be
      accepted but will lose one letter grade.  Unreasonably late
      reports will not be accepted.

      unacknowledged material as if it were the student's own work.
      Disciplinary action may be taken beyond the academic
      discipline administered by the faculty member who teaches the
      course in which the cheating took place.
