COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
APPLICANTS MUST MEET MSU REQUIREMENTS (MSU CATALOG, CHAPTER TWO)
The status CONDITIONAL/UNCONDITIONAL admission must be determined before the student enrolls in his/her first class. UNCONDITIONAL ADMISSION APPLIES TO: - Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Safety & Health. - A minimum of a 3.00 undergraduate G.P.A. CONDITIONAL ADMISSION APPLIES TO: Recommendation of the graduate advisory committee and completion of the prerequisite undergraduate requirements. Upon recommendation of the advisor, prerequisite undergraduate requirements may be taken while enrolled for graduate credit. - Students denied admission to the graduate program in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services, but meet University requirements for conditional admission, may petition for conditional admission. - Conditional admission is reserved for applicants whose previous education and/or experience is evaluated by the department indicating the likelihood of success. - Students accepted conditionally will be required to complete nine hours of prescribed work and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.30 before they are reevaluated. These nine hours will be assigned by the advisor and may be in addition to the student's program. LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: - Applicants whose native tongue is not English or who did not graduate from an English speaking institute must score a minimum of 600 on the TOEFL. - If 600 is not achieved, students must successfully complete ELI level VI and a screening interview by the department prior to enrolling in courses included in their graduate program.
