Eric Rousey is a graduate of Murray State University with a B.A. in history and his M.A. in Public/American History. Heworked toward his Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky, concentrating in Southern (U.S.) history. He worked with the Center for Appalachian Studies at UK.
Eric has worked on numerous Public History projects. He began in the graduate program at Murray State working on the Kentucky Dam Village Project, a National Register of Historic Places project. As part of that project he conducted numerous oral history interviews and completed a lengthy study of the history of Kentucky Dam Village.
As a result of his work on this project, Eric developed an interest in the construction of Kentucky Dam. This ultimately led to his thesis, "Labor at Kentucky Dam, 1938-1945," and an article in The Filson Club History Quarterly, "The Worker's Life at Kentucky Dam, 1938-1945," July, 1997.
Eric's next Public History Project was the Kentucky Railroads Context Study, which he worked on with Tim Marshall. This project involved the preparation of a context study of Kentucky's historic railroads.
Eric has also been a reviewer for the Southern Historian. He currently lives in Columbia, South Carolina.
