The Forrest C. Pogue Public History Institute HomePage

Welcome to the Forrest C. Pogue Public History Institute Home Page. The Pogue Institute is part of the history department at Murray State University. We offer a master's degree in public history as part of the history department's graduate program, as well as working on public history projects in our region.

The master's program includes course work in United States history, a number of public history areas, as well as internships and directed studies courses to provide hands-on experience. Internships and directed studies are done with a number of cooperating institutions.

The Center carries out public history projects in cooperation with local governments and historical agencies in western Kentucky.
